Two fine-mesh head nets that seal at the collar. They look ridiculous, and they work. When the mosquitoes come out at dusk on the lake, or the gnats find you on the trail, pull one over your hat and get back to what you were doing.

Why you'll like it

• Fine, dense mesh. Keeps mosquitoes, gnats, black flies and other small flying insects off your face and neck.
• Extra-large fit. Roomy enough to go over a baseball cap, a sun hat or a fishing hat.
• Seals at the collar. An elastic hem pulls snug around your neck and shoulders, so bugs can't sneak in underneath.
• Breathable. Air moves straight through, so it stays cool on hot, still evenings.
• Packs to nothing. Folds into a pocket, so there's no reason to leave it at home.
• Two in a pack. One black and one green. Keep one for yourself and share the other, or leave a spare in the car.

Good for: fishing, camping, hiking, hunting, gardening, yard work and evenings by the lake.

How to wear it: Put it on over a hat with a brim. The brim holds the mesh away from your face, because mosquitoes can bite through mesh that rests on your skin. Tuck the hem into your collar for a full seal. The black net is easier to see through than the green, since dark mesh cuts down on glare.
