Pet Camping
Usually the most enthusiastic member of the crew, and the one least able to tell you something is wrong. Dogs cannot say that the ground is too hot for their paws, that they are overheating, or that they have been quietly uneasy since sundown.
Which means the gear that matters most is the boring kind: water beyond what you thought you needed, a long line so they can move without roaming, and something familiar to sleep on. Read the field guide to camping with a dog before your first trip together.
